I bought this because I needed to drill about 50 holes in my new woodworking workbench. I had a set of Grizzly Forstner bits that wouldn't cut through wood unless you really exposed the bit with lots of force, like the cutting edge was at zero degrees and wouldn't bite. I was hesitant to buy this after reading reviews of dullness or badly sharpened edges but mine seems good. I used it to cut some holes in some Ikea countertops so it wouldn't cut through hardwood. However, the cuts were clean and the blade still feels as sharp as it was when purchased. I saw your ad and trusted Irwin who is usually a quality supplier but in this case they were really wrong. This is supposed to be their top line of Forstner bits, but they have much cheaper Forstner bits that work much better. For one, the cutting edge didn't even feel sharp (Chinese woodworking tools again), giving it the ability to fire at the drill press at the lowest speed.
