Review on πŸ” High-performance Zeiss Terra ED Binoculars: Enhancing Your Viewing Experience by Patricia Valverde

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great travelers! for binoculars

While I've read rave reviews of these Zeiss Terra ED 8x25 lightweight (<11oz) pocket binoculars, my last 4 months of owning the Swaro CL 8X25 pocket binoculars have tempered my expectations. However, I have found these little glass jewels to match 95% of the venerable and well built CLs (at 1/3 the price) in terms of looks and ergonomics! Like the CL, they have limitations in handling and comfort compared to compact or large binoculars. But for fast travel, unobtrusive viewing, easy portability, and high-precision motor-assisted imaging, these little bags are hard to beat. good contrasts. Her FOV (field of view), whose comfortable point extends within 10% of her 357-foot wide limit, has a comfortable and stereo-optical DOF (depth of field). The tension on the straps is perfect and the focuser works fast, going from close focus (I'm about 5ft) clockwise to infinity in just 1.25 turns. The eyecup adjustment is fully fixed (for eyeglass wearers) and fully retractable (for non-eyeglass wearers). My vision is 20/15 and with very comfortable eyecups fully extended and resting on my forehead I can align the small OC (exit pupil = 3.1) with my pupils and get a full, unobstructed picture of my breath! Thanks to the ED glass, CA (chromatic aberration) is well controlled and I find viewing in daylight and low light bright, natural and comfortable! The diopter is adjusted on the front dial (for the right barrel) and has enough resistance to stay in place. They are made in Japan for Zeiss and offer many features and performance at a great price. They will make great travel companions and will be a replacement for my full size field excursion tools! ted
