I took these as stitch markers when crocheting because I was tired of playing around with the much smaller (miniature size) clips in the public domain. And they work very well for it. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because the supposed idea is that a note on the clip can remind you which needle you used, where you keep the pattern, yarn type and all other details. You can forget if you put off work for a while. In practice, this doesn't work so well; When your work gets hit, the note may move. However, they are large enough that you can pierce a catalog card and insert it into the clasp with the appropriate information.
