I have 2 drives in my computer, C drive for SSD OS. and D for data Seagate 2TB Barracuda compute and desktop drives use Single Sided Magnetic Recording (SMR) technology, which can have slow data write speeds. But the Seagate documentation doesn't state this. Copying 1.1TB to this drive took 9 hours! I then put my old drive back in and the same copier took 2.5 hours to copy the same 1.1TB. All I can say is do your homework, I will never buy a Shingled magnetic hard drive again! Here is the list I found for the Seagate SMR. hard drives.
