Since it was new years ago this welder has never welded very well and is worn to the point of being unusable. This replacement MIG gun was not made for a Schumaker welder but looked very accurate so I bought it to see if I could rebuild it to fit. A few simple modifications like connecting the new 2 wire trigger wires to the single wire trigger by isolating the second wire that connects to the main arc wire on the old gun body. It was easy and natural. The wire guide tube matched the old clamp well but required removing the old factory adhesive. All said and done, dip the tip to avoid spatter sticking and load the .030 wire. Turn on the gas and welder and start welding. The old MIG welder now welds better than ever. Much better than when new. I really can choose smooth professional pearl. I'm glad I spent the money and it was a lot better than buying a cheap Chinese welder.
