I haven't installed them on my 2003 Ford Explorer, Eddie Bauer Edition as it's a few weeks due to bad weather. But on a bright sunny day, the installation took about 15 minutes. Most of the time was spent looking for a suitable screwdriver. They were a big improvement over those that no longer offered lift, but I noticed immediately after installing that the lift they offered was just enough to make me comfortable opening the tailgate. I think it will be difficult for my wife. The back door now closes more easily, which is a good thing. I will try to remember to update my review in 6 months or a year as the elevators previously installed failed in less than a year. I hope this brand is better.
