Still sealed after a month but don't hurry

They fit my 2005 G35 sedan. The valve covers I replaced were the same budget aftermarket type and the gasket had hardened and basically melted into the valve cover. It was just flat plastic. At the moment they are sealed but I really hope they don't leak like the previous ones. In addition to the RTV ribs that you MUST run along the leading edge of the valve covers, I ran a thin bead around the entire edge of the valve covers. CAUTION: When removing the engine top, be sure to inspect the camshaft. Position sensors located on the back of each cylinder bank and VVT solenoids located on the front of each cylinder bank. Because if one of them fails, the oil cannot flow back into the engine, leaving too much oil under the valve covers and causing a leak. So you can spend all your time installing new valve covers and if you don't check these components and make sure they are working properly, you will start leaking oil soon after all that work. As you can see from my photos, when disassembling, be sure to cover the entry holes in the center of the motor because if anything falls in there, your motor will be destroyed. UPDATE: I've had these valve covers for almost a month now and they're still sealed. If you want to spend all your time installing and don't want to pay for OEM parts, these valve covers are about as good as you'll get post-sale including $200 each.
