Can't handle 50 amps without overheating and voltage drop

I used this switch on my solar inverter. At first I thought it would work, but it started to shine under load. The outside temperature was 80 degrees. The breaker has an open circuit drop of 0.2 volts at 13.6 volts. With a DC load of 50 amperes, the temperature of the switch increases from 80 to 125 degrees in about 20 minutes. The voltage drop continues to increase with increasing temperature. My inverter shuts off at 10.5 volts when the switch hits 125 degrees. With a load of 100 amperes, the switch will reach 125 degrees and fail within a few minutes. My cable is 1/0 gauge and transfers heat in one direction to the battery and in the other direction a few feet towards my inverter. I removed the breaker and the voltage drop is now less than 0.1 volts at 50 amps. . I used 50 amps continuously for 8 hours without heating the cord. This switch was clearly the cause of the problem. The connections were good and I used an IR heat gun to observe the temperature rise. This product is defective due to its construction. It can't detonate up to 200 amps, but it can't handle 50 amps without overheating and failing. I suspect the reason for this is the aluminum contacts, which are notorious for their inability to withstand a large load. Under improper conditions, this switch can cause a fire. It is not safe and should not be on the market.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
