I love the design and it has exactly the connectors I was looking for. Unfortunately, when I put the right side on the right and the left side on the left, the HDMI port didn't work at all. However, after reading other reviews, I tried swapping them out and now all ports work, even though I ran a network cable and HDMI cable under the laptop. I give it three stars for design and features, but I can't rate it higher because it doesn't quite perform as intended. I had to revise this rating down. The functionality did not survive a restart of the Macbook. After restarting, the device on the left stopped working. it's coming back Final edit: I upgraded my MacBook Pro to Catalina and the adapter works as intended. However, every time I locked the screens, the system would panic. It doesn't seem to be related to this device specifically, it also happened with a second, different hub/dock. Unfortunately this means I cannot use this adapter so I returned it for a refund.
