Materials are certainly good but: I found I had to pour hot water on it to get the cubes, even then I had to slide them out one at a time from the back. The outer wall and lid, making it rigid enough to put in the freezer, also act as an insulator. It takes twice as long to make ice cream than my old regular one. But that's a first world problem. My main problem is filling it and then keeping it cool without spilling anything: the outer rim is at the same level as the inner dividers, so when filling you have to fill practically each cube individually. just let gravity do its job. Simply pouring water in the middle or at one end will spill it instead of filling the cube's pockets. Again, it's still easy to spill when moving to the freezer. Squeezing it lightly (to keep it in place) can cause water to spurt out of the lid's seams. Again a good silicone but I don't think anyone really attempted to use it before it went into production and I have to wonder if some of the reviews were written by people who actually paid for one of them to have.
