Throw Away Player is the best turntable

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas 2014 so this review is based on my own experience and not just 'unboxing'. At first he was impressed by how durable this little player was. Robust design and simple functionality. It was an "appetizer" for my daughter and the price was right so we gave it a try. listen while simultaneously playing the same song from CD and vinyl. This resulted in a delay of about a second towards the end of the song. My daughter was of course just enthusiastic about the player. Until 3 months ago. The discrepancy in the sound played by the player was so terrible that it was unbearable. Whether it's wear in the belt or the motor, I expected a little more use than 3 years. but honestly you get what you pay for. If you want to start with a decent one-off, you can't go wrong with the price. If you are looking for a good starter that will last a long time and produce great sound quality, I would recommend the Audio Technica AT-LP60. It costs a little more but the sound quality is much better than this Jensen and the AT-LP60 is fully automatic. If you're looking for a mid-range turntable that delivers audio quality that rivals half-price thousand-dollar decks, I recommend the Pro-Ject - Debut Carbon DC.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • poorly thought out
