Amazing $140 deal

This is only the third monitor I've ever had. The first was the ugly Compaqyello gray CRT POS. The second was an old TN, 1440x900, with a fluorescent backlight, made by HANNS-G. I thought the latter had a pretty good picture. I used it to watch movies and games like Bad Company 2 and Skyrim. For a long time I thought about switching to 1920x1080. I was concerned that my frame rate would drop in these games at 1080p due to my old hardware. Three weeks ago I decided to pull the trigger anyway. Needless to say, you can go from TN to IPS, 1440x900 to 1920x1080, and Fluorescent to LED in one upgrade. I had high hopes. Unfortunately, three days after receiving this monitor, my "old hardware" mysteriously burned down. And I still don't have my brand new CPU/mobo/RAM/etc. I was able to play Skyrim for a short time and loved the picture quality. In my opinion, my old monitor now looks like a three-year-old color-blind man drawing on a wall unevenly painted with unbranded colored pencils (I'm not seriously exaggerating here). And to my surprise, my framerate actually INCREASES in most games I play (GPU draining CPU due to higher resolution?). There are only two things I could single out as downsides. IPS Glow” characteristic of ALL IPS monitors. Secondly, with a few more of these plates I could probably build a working model of Archimedes' death ray and use it to roast squirrels from a mile away. Yes, they are highly reflective anyway. Expectations? surpassed. Well done Dell. You finally did something good for humanity.
