Good NAS for home use

I bought this to replace my Iomega ix2-200 NAS which was very slow. I installed 2 Western Digital Red drives, plugged them in and they started working almost immediately. Mirroring was set up automatically (it took several hours to format the drives properly). When the discs were ready, I transferred a bunch of media files from another server. It took a long time - ten years of digital photos, films and over 400 music albums. After all this was done, it worked very well. I can stream music and videos and quickly access all my photos. It's much faster than ix2. I find the user interface very good and have no complaints. There are many applications that can be downloaded to make this device more than just a NAS. I can only comment on one: Logitech Media Server (LMS). I always like to get a bonus when I'm researching something but still find a bonus. In this case it was an opportunity to host an LMS. This is one of the applications that can be downloaded very easily from its interface. I was very excited because I have a Logitech Squeezebox radio that I love (why aren't they made anymore?). The app allows the ReadyNAS to play music directly, meaning no PC is required. I love this bonus feature and it works great.
