Review on IOGEAR 4-Port 4K DisplayPort KVMP Switch with HDMI and DisplayPort Output USB 3.0 and RS-232, Including Full Set of Cables (TAA Compliant) GCS1934M by Andrew Pickering

Works great (unlike other DisplayPort KVMs I've tried)

I've used many switches over the years including two other DisplayPorts and I'm very happy with them. It's much more comfortable to use than the cheap DP switch it replaced and doesn't have the downsides of the expensive Belkin switch I bought and returned. Video: Image quality and stability are perfect. (Although DisplayPort signals are digital, some switches cause bit errors.) Also, other DP switches lose signal when toggled, causing laptop screens to wake up and windows to resize, but this one works fine. The monitor also goes to sleep and wakes up normally (!). Switching time is 4-5 seconds for video (screen goes black) but almost instantaneous for keyboard/mouse. I don't know how much of that time is going to my monitor since it takes about that long for my monitor to display an image if I unplug and plug the video input back in. That's fine for my purposes, but for those who constantly switch between computers, it can be annoying. Keyboard/Mouse: These work fine, although I use a regular (non-gaming) mouse and keyboard. zero crashes/problems over months of continuous use. Audio: I haven't tried. Cables: The included cables feel good, but I mostly had to buy other cables because they are short (4ft) and also have DisplayPort (instead of the mini-Displayport connector found on most laptops). Make sure you buy some good DisplayPort cables you can find (but cheap USB cables will work too). It would be more useful if they included a combination of lengths. UPDATED: I'll be using it for a few more months and leaving a 5 star review. When a computer goes to sleep, you have to switch to another computer and then back (e.g. with ScrollLock, ScrollLock, #, Enter) to get the video. Also, I think the different models listed together on Revain may have different quirks/problems, but the reviews are all mixed up.
