One of the best detector mounts. I've had one for my STI Magnum for two years and it hasn't come loose on its own yet. The Magnum is very heavy and if parked in the sun it can fly off the spot. But I still remove the detectors when I park. This detector is not designed for the Uniden R1 but I couldn't find a suitable mount for the R1 so I bought a second one and modified it to make it work. My only complaint (based on using my first) is that the sides that the lag screw goes through crack if over tightened. But it still works. There is a fine line between overtightening and loosening and tilting the detector. But overall it's a good product.
