On the advice of friends, I bought these string lights to surround my car and protect it from tree rats and other rodents that eat wires. However, I have never used them for this purpose. Then my peaches were ripe and a beautiful (cocoa colored) black bear was watching them. The peach tree is surrounded by a fence, but the bear will easily knock it over and then destroy the tree. Barking dogs guard all of this during the day, but it's a concern at night. I placed a battery operated radio in the fence, turned it on and protected it from the rain, and then hung lanterns around the fence from the inside. The lights came on the first time and flashed most of the night. So far no damage. Will be updated as the case progresses. Over time I plan to use headlights to protect my car.
