My child is about 46 inches tall, under 52 pounds, skinny type. Bought the middle one illegally, it's a bit big for him but not big enough to bother me, he can probably use it next year, also he has flared seams on his arm when they ride so win win! great jacket perfect for cold days, back in california we only used it in 36-32° weather. Can't comment on its strength or durability considering we've only used it a handful of times. .I'm planning tours in the snow, so I'll let you know later. But still I would recommend.
