The fittings on the ends are not 3/8, but 8AN ORB.
I found out that the big end fittings were 8 AN ORB and then I found 8 AN ORB with 1/8 NPT female thread. I will now use a barbed fitting for the 1/4 hose to the inlet fitting with the barbed fitting installed to seamlessly distribute the thrust of this protocol.
