I recently bought this kit after trying to buy a cheaper wireless IP camera. For my needs, the IP camera was poor and difficult to set up and use. I decided to bite the bullet and spend a little more on this system. I don't regret a bit! Setup is relatively easy, although cables are almost always a nuisance. After testing the system, I installed 3 out of 4 cameras. The cables that come with it are longer than that. Although the cameras are waterproof, the connectors are waterproof, so for the one camera that isn't below the roofline, I had to get marine-grade shrink wrap and a heat gun. In general, once installed, the system is very easy to set up. Because it has a built-in hard drive, it's much easier than buying a cheaper system that requires an additional hard drive. I love that I can view, play and even record segments from my phone. Also, the included DVR is easy to use and maneuver. This is the first security system I have ever installed and now I feel like an expert after doing it myself. I highly recommend this system and have already convinced several neighbors to buy the same system. I have a feeling that I will now be helping several neighbors with their installations.
