Review on Airhead Tear-Aid Vinyl Repair Kit: Fix Rips and Tears - Packaging May Vary by Luca Washington

So far so good on the patch on the BIG Gap in Thermarest Base Camp sleeping pad

So my son was able to tuck a large (think an inch and a half high and an inch wide) T-gap into a brand new sleeping pad for the Thermarest base camp (I mean it's a cool dude, it's only about $80 and you used it once). This is the right kind of vinyl pad. I was a bit concerned that the thermal rest isn't quite flat and the gap is really big. I did nothing to close the gap before applying this. That's the good thing. It comes in quite a long sheet and according to the instructions I had to patch the patch an inch above the tear in all directions. This wasn't entirely possible, although the instructions state that the patches can be applied to each other. So far, so good. The patch holds. I blew the pillow with my mouth past the point where it normally has air pressure in it and it has held up ever since. My son actually slept on the rug next to our bed last night (he only weighs about 45 pounds) and I sat on it for some time and the patch is holding up. I deflated the pillow and rolled it up for a while and then inflated it again. So far, so good. I think so far this is a good product. I have about half left, plus the two small puncture patches that came with the kit, and I'll probably buy another one and add it to my hiking gear. We'll see how long it lasts on this ridiculous crack (something it's certainly not designed for), but I have a good feeling.

Cons
