No major problems using this tool to remove the rocker arm from a 5.4 liter 3v engine to pull out the camshafts and the engine after the Installation of a new timing set to reset. It was a bit difficult to figure out at first, but luckily the engine gives us 24 ways to use it to uninstall AND 24 more ways to reinstall! Hooray! 2 caveats from my personal experience. 1. Be sure to squeeze the rocker arm on top of the valve stem while compressing the spring to avoid losing the valve. With advance warning I had no problems here. Which was nice since I'd rather push my truck off a cliff than voluntarily pull heads because the valve falls into the cylinder. And 2, check the clearance of the tool on the camshaft towers when the springs are compressed. The only minor issue I had was that once or twice (with very little play) I hit the cam tower or whatever in the head and couldn't fully compress the valve spring to remove the rocker. In these cases, repositioning the tool and restarting allowed the spring to fully compress. I wonder if the negative reviewers that broke the tool could have had a similar experience and pushed it to its limits. This work requires a lot of patience, but a tool is required.
