I just received this new tripod adapter and I'm going to try it right away (in case I need to send it back right away!). So far, so good. The adapter prevents vibrations between the tripod and the binoculars. I shouldn't have said that, but of course there's vibration when you bang the tripod and/or bang your face on the binoculars. Some reviewers have complained about the depth of the threads or the rubber gasket that holds the adapter to the tripod plate. I'm using a Manfroto 3275 tripod head and the plate's mounting screw went right into the base of the adapter and snapped in perfectly. As for the fixing screw that attaches to the middle of the binoculars, I don't see any problem with that. The threading was correct, the length of the bolt was good, and they gave you a nice thick rubber thumbscrew to tighten it up. Other reviewers mentioned that this adapter was too thick or bulky to fit in the middle of the binoculars. I am using Skymaster 15x70 binoculars and there is enough clear space on either side of the adapter lens assembly. It's possible that very small binoculars have problems attaching to the adapter, I'm not sure. As I said, this is my first experience report. I will update it with any comments good or bad if I notice anything a potential buyer should be aware of.
