It's good, for equipment in general

It was great. I've had it installed for several months now. It is installed like any other door viewer (neither easier nor more difficult). It's definitely better to drill a pilot hole with a smaller bit and then drill halfway through each side (front and back) with a larger bit than to drill all the way through with a larger bit and split the door on one side. The only tricky part of the setup (for me) is making sure the drill bit goes in perfectly straight, not at an up, down, or sideways angle. However, if you tilt it down a bit, you see a little more ground in front of the door. Which brings me to my personal reason for buying it. Sure, I want to see people at the door, but I really wanted to be able to see packages waiting at the door without having to open the door. I can technically see the outside edge of the welcome mat, but I still have to open the door to see if there are any small packages - it's hard to see them through the peephole in the door. I didn't think the checker door valve was necessary, but now that I have it, I appreciate it. I don't like the logo engraved on the valve - it's more garish and flashy. I improved the situation by tracing the letters with a black marker (my viewer is bronze rubbed with oil). They're still visible, but at least they're no longer copper-colored, so less noticeable.
