Review on Stainless Steel 5-Cup Hand Crank Flour Icing Sugar Sifter by Mrs. Anderson's Baking by Jason Williamson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Crank wire weak

I've had one for years (but another brand of 'Bromwell's' which was zinc plated but started to rust but looks exactly like this new one stainless steel Mrs. Anderson). The handle of this new stainless steel is made from a slightly lighter .098 gauge wire, which unfortunately allows it to flex too much during use and acts like a "spring" under the flour load, causing it to constantly eject flour. up out of the container. My eldest didn't, even though the wire gauge used was only 0.006mm thicker (that's 0.104mm). A small difference in caliber makes all the difference in its "action". The crank length on this new stainless steel is also 1 inch shorter than the older Bromwell, making it a bit more awkward and uncomfortable. Include this new stainless Mrs. Anderson (IMO) (I'd like the handle to extend lengthwise so the handle only extends to the bottom of the container but no further).

Pros
  • nice touch
Cons
  • don't remember but I had some
