Although Chef's Choice kitchen slicer models feature a serrated blade, they cut bread and some cheeses much better. than cutting meat products. The answer is a blade without a serration. And it does an excellent job. Easy to install and perfect for all 7" Chef's Choice slicers. This blade slices meat like butter. Much lighter than a serrated blade. For slicing meat for things like French sauce sandwiches or bacon, it's great for those thin slices. Likewise it is effective at slicing thicker cuts such as 1/2" thick steaks and pork chops. Unlike a serrated blade, slicing meat with this blade eliminates the need to periodically turn the meat to prevent the meat from getting stuck under the blade. That will happen with a serrated blade, but not this blade. Easy to clean and razor sharp. Highly recommend complementing the slicer with Chef's Choice Slicer. We love it! A++
