I took this lens to go on vacation, because 24-70 (28-75) is not very variable. Some 16-35 is too peculiar pleasure because of the wide angle unusual for the eye. 70-200 (70-180) - already too large, heavy and not suitable due to the too long minimum focal length. 35-150 - heavyweight. Sonyevsky 24-240 - frankly weak in aperture ratio and sharpness. Even more expensive. And Tamron 28-200 was devoid of all the above disadvantages. What is especially interesting is that in rooms with a lack of lighting, you need to photograph more at a wide angle, where this lens is still very bright. And on the street 5.6 by 200mm is not a big hindrance. It feels exactly the same as the Tamron 28-75 and is almost as good at wide angle. In general, this lens surprisingly shows itself in battle. The quality of the photos does not give any compromises in it. At an open aperture, everything is already fine. Excellent soft, although not like on faster lenses, bokeh. The long end makes excellent portraits. But you need to remember about the low aperture ratio of 200mm (see the portrait of a cat). There are practically no chromatic aberrations and other distortions (see photo with grapevine). You can safely take it as the only lens. And only in case of special need to buy others. Despite the fact that this lens is "all in one", it will outperform most less versatile lenses in all respects except for aperture at the long end. In general, this is now my favorite lens. Others I wear only if I need to do something specific, where 28-200 does not fit.
