Review on πŸš™ Enhance Your Jeep TJ with the Hi-Lift HM-825 Hood Mount - Secure and Convenient! by Gerald Reeves

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It may require a little more work than just screwing.

If they say "no drilling required" they probably never installed them. I have to admit that I had a little trouble installing it. The main problem was in the stamped bracket under the jeep's hood that the hinge and those screws attached to. The bracket is not perfectly aligned with the holes. So when you want to install the screws, they are at such an angle that they want to cross the threads. This prompted me to open up the holes in the hood to give the bolts more room to move. It didn't work so after some analysis I decided to pull the struts out and noticed that they weren't bent 90 degrees. I'm pretty sure this was done for ease of installation at the factory, so I heated them with a torch and bent them. them back to 90's. They were a bit tight but this aligned the holes and the screws went in with no problem. I think most installations will hopefully not need this process, but it might help someone having the same problem.
