They are definitely worth the money. I've been using a $200 air purifier in Austin, Texas for 2 years and it just doesn't work for my allergies (dust mites and mold). I ended up doing some serious research and bought two of these for my apartment and in just two hours of switching them on (medium, level 3 out of 6 possible) I FEEL the difference in the air. In fact, breathing has become easier, the air is somehow lighter now. Now I breathe better inside my house than outside, which has never happened before. I keep it on level 3, which I find to be a nice quiet fan noise in the background, it relaxes me and actually makes it easier to fall asleep. For people who need quiet to sleep you need to run it on 1 at night but even at that level they are so strong if you use a block in the bedroom on 1 it will give you perfect air like NOTHING else in the store. For larger rooms, or more than one room, you should definitely run it on higher settings. My apartment is 1853 square feet and I have one in my bedroom (where I spend most of my time as I am disabled from pain and multiple bouts of exhaustion) and another in my other living quarters. That's more than enough on medium setting (3) to get my air perfect. Some time ago I bought a small mobile device for my car and it has an air quality sensor on it. This indicated that my air quality was at its best. Then a few days later my electricity went out and in just two hours the air quality dropped to some of the worst! My apartment building is that bad! So I have full confidence in these devices improving my life. I cannot recommend them enough. And if you research them, the filters are expensive but they last a long time. DO NOT skimp on filters. That's half or more of what gives you clean air. Spending money on a great air purifier and then putting in cheap filters that aren't designed for this device just won't work. If you can't afford good filters, just get a cheaper unit that uses cheap filters in the first place. I know the cost of this device is intimidating, but I promise the quality is worth it.
