My family is half Belgian so we are very picky about fries (!) and I have been using a real deep fryer for decades with great success. To keep fries in our diet but get rid of fat at the same time, we decided to try air frying. For this I decided to use a top-of-the-range instant oven. Enter: grill. At first I was surprised that the grill didn't come with my high end oven and I got a second shock when I saw the price of this expensive accessory. But my mom and sisters insisted that the grill was crucial to actually using the roasting feature in the oven, especially for a large family. Luckily the grill fits in the oven, works as advertised etc BUT. Do I need a PhD to run this thing?!? Every load of french fries, potatoes or whatever I put in there is on fire! If it doesn't burn, it rips into inedible pieces, and recently (because the door seems to be slightly crumpled when cleaning) the cage opens and everything ends up on the bottom of the oven.! Washing, which is not so easy at all, makes you want to go on fried days! I also found out the (secret ;)) cooking method with fat and could always count on a delicious result. Now, what is the secret of a good grill? Everyone? ;P
