Review on High Capacity Cyan Ink Cartridge: EPSON T252 DURABrite Ultra For Epson WorkForce Printers by Black Miller

Bought the set B XL and reg size color. Installed, opened new ream of paper, print only Black letters, used up 500 sheets and another 50 and got ink low. Checked ink levels and found that not only black XL was almost empty but all color cartridges were 90% empty too. Called Epson and was told 1000 page yield is only in draft mode. As for color, told some color is used even when only doing gray scale. BS. Told them my calculations say that for ever 2 ml of black I also use 1 ml of each color even when printing simple letters in gray scale. Kept asking for explanation, put on hold 5 times while upper tier guy went to check with engineer. Bottom line, all he could do is dance around my question and finally said he would send reg size set of cartridges. Not really an answer nor solution. Read there is some kind of counter inside printer that even if there is still good amount of ink you will still get LOW INK, WOULD YOU LIKE TO BUY MORE. Printer cost $120. but in one year, 1100 black letters, spent $150. on ink. Going to buy laser printer much more cost efficient for gray scale printing. That said, if you read all the small print on Epson site you will see Epson plays lots of games and lots of parameters, criteria, technical BS that basically says DON'T EXPECT GOOD PRINT YIELDS CAUSE WE MAKE OUR MONEY ON INK.
