UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE: I was sent a new pitcher at no charge to fix problems with the one I had purchased. Here's my update: GOOD: The filter is actually fast enough and after about 10 minutes the water in the tank is filtered. There are no problems with this. THE SAME (SAME) BAD: The issue of the lid not really preventing the tank water from contaminating the filtered water when someone pours is still there. I made a new video to show more clearly that I never put too much water in the tank as some commented in reference to my first video. I poured exactly 2 full glasses of water and waited for one to filter. I don't feel like I unreasonably expect to be able to pour filtered water right away so I can drink it without worrying about the lid not working. Unfortunately, that's exactly what I have to do. HACK: When using a pitcher, we always have to wait until all the water is filtered. If we want to drink water filtered to this point, we remove the reservoir from the pitcher and pour water into it. That was the case with the first pitcher and we must continue to do so. CONCLUSION: We love the taste of water, so we'll keep using it despite its obvious downsides. I appreciate the company contacting me - and for that I'll add a star to the rating (2 to 3) but I feel the cap and tank combination needs to be changed to be corrected. I just received this a few hours ago and have followed all the instructions to install the jug. On the pictures you can see some small notes showing where the water level is in how many minutes. I started taking pictures of the second run and noticed that not all of the water from the tank went through the filter in more than 15 minutes (the instructions say it takes about 10 minutes). I want to emphasize that I filled the cold. The tap water in the tank stops 1/2 inch from the top as the instructions say. The 2nd start was the fastest in my unofficial test, as you can see in the photos. is so slow and it is almost guaranteed that you will still have water in the tank the first time you try to pour the water out of the jug, there is a high probability that you will contaminate the filtered water with the water from the tank, as shown in Das video I recorded. It would be easy to decide if there was some kind of sealing material (silicone?) between the tank and the cap, but there is NO. Just watch the video and form your own opinion. It took about an hour for water to filter through the 4th pass with 1/2" from the top fill. In this case there would be no infection but you would have to wait that hour. I really wanted this to work. I will try pouring less water so there is no more water in the tank when i try to pour into my cup but then i have to wait forever (5 minutes for 1 cup is good forever) for just one cup.
