A while ago I received an old model that I really liked except for two things. The old model's base was centered rather than offset, making the base harder to hide under furniture. And the bracket could not be bent a full 90 degrees, so I often looked at my devices at a slight angle. I returned to my order to place another one and found the item had been replaced with this one. I thought this new model was an improved design that addresses these issues, so I was excited to try it. "Disappointment" doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about the new model. Yes, it eliminates the above two issues that the latest model had, but it also eliminates all of the other benefits that the latest model had. It is falsely advertised as height adjustable with 360 degree gooseneck. It is not telescopic like the latest model. If you want to adjust the height you really have to take it apart and it will lock into place at that height. The gooseneck doesn't rotate at all, let alone 360 degrees. It screws on, and if you try to rotate it, it either unscrews, moves the entire stand, base and all, or bounces back. In the end he punched me in the eye. He also claims that the top rotates 360 degrees. Technically, the top is also screwed on, so you can only twist it one way or it will unscrew and fall off. It also claims to work with mobile devices of various sizes. The old model came with different attachments that could be switched to work with different sized devices. This one only comes with one mount, and while I love the idea of not having to change them all the time, it's way too big for my phone. I have to fit it lengthwise and it interferes with the charging cable (there's a hole but it's still in the way) and I can't use 3.5mm audio at all. The microphone and speaker are also hidden. The gooseneck is thinner, which doesn't really bother me as it's easier to bend but bounces easier when you're typing or tapping your device's screen. The stand is lighter, which makes it easier to tip over, and pressing the screen again makes the entire stand wobble. At least I don't have to squint at my devices anymore, but I'm having a hard time setting them up and getting them. in place as it doesn't rotate and keeps unscrewing or rotating the entire base when I try to adjust it. I wouldn't recommend this at all, especially for the price. I'll look for another stand.
