Addendum: After building the best forge here is the last bad rating. I set it up with a ceramic sleeve probe rated at 2600F but it tops the digital limit of meters at 1999 Fir Altitude but I can get 1300 Celsius before it stops at Celsius. I'm American, I like archaic dimensions, dammit. My theory is that the first or leftmost digit can only display "1" or a space. Not as described or advertised IMHO. I'll get a better device from Harbor Freight. . The probe is only 4-1/2 inches long and that makes it difficult to get good readings if you're pushing the 2300 degree range like I did. Good reader, bad probe.
