Great product for digital thermometers

Used this to check bed temps on my 3D printer and calibrate my heat press. Not something I would use every day, but when I got it I opened it up and started using it straight away. Worked as advertised and was very easy!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Best part is overnight delivery

Best part is overnight delivery. I needed it immediately. I knew the metal would get red-hot at 1400 degrees - I bought thick leather gloves in anticipation. However, the plastic connecting the metal tip to the wire began to melt.

Pros
  • Quality build
Cons
  • No

UPDATED NOT AS A BENEFIT, cannot be used reliably.!

Update: After building a better forge, here's one last bad review. can reach 1300 Celsius before stopping on the Celsius scale. I'm American, I like archaic dimensions, dammit. My theory is that the first or leftmost digit can only display "1" or a space. Not as described or advertised IMHO. I'll get a better device from Harbor Freight. . The probe is only 4-1/2 inches long and that makes it difficult to get good readings if you're pushing the 2300 degree range like I did. Good reader, bad…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

Product description is wrong. Says its range is .

Product description is inaccurate. It's said to have a range of up to 2372 feet Fahrenheit, but the device comes with a sensor that can only operate at 932 feet Fahrenheit. As a result, the device cannot function as described.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

UPDATED NOT AS A BENEFIT, cannot be used reliably.!

Addendum: After building the best forge here is the last bad rating. I set it up with a ceramic sleeve probe rated at 2600F but it tops the digital limit of meters at 1999 Fir Altitude but I can get 1300 Celsius before it stops at Celsius. • Long delivery time

The probe is too short to measure the oven temperature.

Very dissatisfied. I bought this to test the temperature in my oven not exceeding the 2300 degree Fahrenheit rating. At 850 F. The plastic on the end of the probe started to melt and I couldn't use it anymore. When I take it out of the oven to a non-melting distance, it says its internal temp is 500, which is impossible when it's constantly rising, and before that it was 850. Unless they change the plastic on the end of the probe. with metal or lengthen the probe, it is unusable for high…
