Review on DROK Frequency Electric Voltmeter Multimeter by Tom Plowman

Stunning high contrast screen, works EXCELLENT!

What can I say, I am more than satisfied with this product. Given the low price, I decided to get one. I was a little confused by the color display as I had never seen this style/technology before. I don't know how new it is but I like it. It appears to be an inverted version of a standard calculator LCD, but with a color filter in certain areas and a backlight to give it that look. (if so, this is a winning design). I have attached some photos of what I did with my product; Since I wasn't sure whether a metal bushing would damage the TT, I bought a plastic bushing. I bought a bezel with two long rectangular slots to fit standard size outlets and switches. I bought a grounded outlet/breaker (slim design) for one of the square holes and the other square hole I would modify DROK to fit like it was made for this panel. I connected an outlet switch to the outlet to turn the outlet on or off. It's between the switch wiring and the outlet I attached the current transformer to. That way if I connect my switch device in off mode I'll only see the voltage (I find this handy). next to the socket ground), and as soon as I put something in the socket, I get current and power readings. It was such a wonderful product. My outlet is rated for 15 amps, my heavy duty cable to the plastic box is rated for 20 amps (heavier for longer life). I have written to DROK several times asking if they plan to redesign this product to have a face that will work with this type of faceplate. I told him it would be a great success if they could do it. I'm also hoping they come out with a "True RMS" version of this device as RMS values are much more critical when measuring sign waves/AC current. To modify the DROK to fit the second rectangular hole I had to cut the clips, two pieces of plastic with a hole big enough to fit the exhaust header bolts and add a bolt to the bottom to make it fit and works correctly. It actually looks like it was designed for this setup if you ask me and I'm really happy with how good it turned out!
