Review on Magigoo All-in-One Adhesive Pen by Justin Albright

Magigoo Pen - works, but be careful.

Pros I was having trouble getting the PETG to stick securely to my glass surface so I decided to give Magigoo a try. This has definitely helped improve adhesion and reduce the number of failed prints due to the model detaching from the surface. So a clear plus. Also, you don't need a lot of glue. A small amount is enough. And you don't have to use it all the time. I've only used it for prints that didn't have much surface area on the platform compared to the mass/size of the entire print. Cons It's quite expensive for such a small bottle of glue. I think the company can either lower the price a bit or upgrade to a larger bottle. Mainly because of my next minus. I've used the glue about 7-8 times and was pretty happy with being able to tell when I needed it. Well, at a certain pressure I needed it. So I unscrewed the cap, removed it and turned the bottle upside down, ready to apply to the surface of my bed. To my horror, the bottle started splattering on my bed! What the hell happened? I quickly turned the bottle over again, but I already had 3/4 of the bottle in a puddle on the surface of my bed. Apparently the applicator that was pushed into the top of the bottle broke off when I removed the cap. There are no threads holding it in place and it must have stayed attached to the cap between uses. So I had to vacuum up the expensive mess and throw it in the trash. I've used the rest of the bottle on subsequent prints, checking the applicator each time. Of course he showed up a few more times. So for now I'm giving this product three stars. It works, but it's expensive. And if you're buying it for yourself, always check the top of the applicator to make sure it's not stuck in the cap.

Pros
  • WORKS ON MULTIPLE SURFACES: Works on Glass, PEI, Buildtak and Kapton
Cons
  • Not sure
