Review on WeMo 4T T3X2 Y1HT Light Appliances Control by Lance Foster

We've had two Wemo Mini Smart Plugs (model F7C063) for a few months and have just bought two more from Revain. When we had lunch in the same room with one of the outlets, it smelled like smoke. The oldest plug (bought from Revain last December) started smoking and melted a hole in the top right side (halfway between the Hotline plug and the outlet). At this point, the 40-watt CFL lightbulb connected to Wemo was not on. There is no water in the area and no one touched the Wemo mini plugged into a Belkin outlet. The only other device plugged into the power strip was an iPhone charger, which was not damaged. I checked the polarity and ground of the extension cord, the outlet it was plugged into, and the lamp. All three are fine. I have sent a photo of the blown smart plug to WemoCares@Belkin.com but have not yet received a response. None of the excuses given on the Wemo community site can explain the overheating that has occurred inside the Wemo mini itself. We were very lucky that the incident happened during the day and we were there to smell it before the big fire started. What guarantees do we have that this won't happen with the other three Wemo Smart Plugs we've bought? SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD.
