This receiver is dangerous. I towed a caravan that fits nicely in this receiver, with a hitch to distribute the weight. My trailer is 500 pounds and the trailer weight is 5000 pounds. The second time I towed my trailer, it pulled the bolt that goes through the bumper out of the receiver about 1/2 inch. Now I have to cut the screw and hopefully not damage my bumper in the process. I installed it according to the instructions. In the past I was a state-certified car mechanic with a car test certificate. Serious vehicle damage, personal injury, or death can result. Now my receiver can move up and down under load. Don't waste money. Buy a GOOD brand receiver Buyers beware Only suitable if towing small landscaping trailers Not much else.
