Review on Monroe 32315 Monro Matic Shock Absorber by Brendan Thorpe

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Easy to install, little difference in thread end diameter and no multiple nuts.

compatibility of these shock absorbers said they fit my 2001 Kia Sportage. Yes, they fit, but they don't fit perfectly. The length and diameter and the bottom screw hole are good, but the threaded shank on the top end is a smaller diameter (about 1/4 inch) than the original (about 3/8 inch). Therefore, there is a small margin of error on the high ends. I used a combination of the original grommets and new ones to keep the upper threaded rod in place as much as possible. To make matters worse, my first shock didn't have nuts and I couldn't reuse two 3/8's. "Original nuts on a smaller shaft. The second box had a nut. (Two are needed to secure the nuts in place). So I was standing on jack stands with the wheels off and had to drive to the hardware store. To get one a few nuts to finish the job.Of course the hardware store was closed at the time.Once installed they worked as expected. No complaints.
