I bought another product that had duct tape to stick it on the outside of my air vent. This particular brand is the exact width of a standard opening (plus size). I just need to cut off the right height. Easy to use Material: This is not my field and I think it prevents (captures) dust. I can't say more about some people who like to capture germs. I'm a microbiologist and I can say that you need very special filters ( Hepafilter) for this.These and others will capture dust particles, that's all we need for a normal household.
