I have been using this sand for my dwarf hamster for 7 months. She loves it! At first I was worried that she would swallow it but there were no problems at all. She uses it as a potty and when I put new sand in it she likes to roll around in it. She has a 3 tier cage and I will watch her going from top to bottom to use the potty. The real test was that I went away for 2 weeks and left them in someone's care and I really wanted them to take care of the sand change so I took the sand out. She started peeing in the other corner of the cage and when I came back it was a stinky mess. Now her sand is back and she's happy to go potty again! I usually go through a container every 4 months.
