I bought them because shoes without lacing are recommended after surgery. It seemed to be just what I needed, but they come in a plastic bag and as you can see they are curved so they don't even come close to 'tightening'. Because they're rubber, they always will be. For this reason I only gave them 2 stars. They seem pretty comfortable once you've won the flex battle and actually put them on.
