I've used these tiny things on several projects. I log into TRINKETBOOT and flash the firmware using the Arduino IDE. Remember you can use UART and I2C together or SPI separately. If you use SPI you lose UART and I2C. And remember, if you're using UART for serial communication, it's actually Serial1 in your code. for example.
