Review on Natural Ayurvedic Oil Pulling Mouthwash Rinse with Activated Charcoal and Coconut Oil - Terra and Co. by Sander Savala

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It can have great benefits, but I don't like the way my mouth feels after using it.

I know everyone who has reviewed this oil pulling mouthwash loves it but I'm not a fan. You should rinse your mouth out with a gray oily product for 5-10 minutes before brushing your teeth, it then spit it out in the trash can (oil is bad for pipes) and clean. I rarely have 10 minutes to swing, but I try to do it in three or four. It has a mild, non-fresh taste. I would prefer mint flavor. As soon as I spit it out, I brush my teeth and my mouth still feels greasy. My breath doesn't feel or smell as fresh as if I hadn't used it and I haven't noticed any improvement in the whiteness of my teeth despite knowing that charcoal whitens. The ingredients in this oil are good. Coconut oil makes teeth shinier and can whiten, while charcoal whitens teeth well. It also has antibacterial properties. I just prefer to use charcoal mint toothpaste or some other charcoal whitening product that doesn't make my mouth look as greasy. I know oil rinses can be good for oral care, but I don't like oily buildup in my mouth, so I'm not inclined to look for another brand. It's definitely not a bad product and it does have its perks. I'm just not a fan of using it. If it had a strong, breath-freshening minty flavor I'd be more inclined to rinse my mouth out for a few minutes, but it tastes almost like cooking oil. Also, $34.99 for £6.75 is expensive since I use at least half an ounce at a time.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • something different
