The pedals work perfectly. I had shimano pedals and can't see any difference except these are lighter and cheaper. The cleats on the other hand are not so good. They are not brand name shimano cleats although the description kind of indicates that. I kept having trouble with them failing to totally disengage from the pedal on this pedal as well as my shimano pedal. I put my old shimano cleats back on and the problem stopped. It wasn't a matter of adjusting the tightness on the pedals. They would unclip but somehow get hung up so I couldn't get my foot free.
