Definitely not "brushed nickel ".
That's right - they seem to last a lot; However, I didn't expect them to be so close to the mantle. I'm a little worried they'll leave marks or spill some cement. My biggest disappointment was the brushed nickel color which is unlike any other brushed nickel item in my home. It's not matte at all (why brush, right?) and dark, almost pewter. I was scared, I don't want to do without stockings anymore, so I'll deal with that. But if I had more time, I would return it in lieu of a product that better suited the aesthetic of my home.
