Review on Metra 99 5716 Taurus Sable Harness by Richard Gaines

Don't be fooled by bad reviews. If you are planning to replace your stock Taurus stereo with a non-original one, this kit is a must. I see many complaints about the schematic or lack thereof. Even if you are inexperienced in installing a stereo, the instructions are more than adequate. Ford made a mess and this kit offers a well thought out solution. Thought of giving only 4 stars for the decals intended for the HVAC controls but the simple truth is they really aren't that bad. They are backlit and dim, just like the factory dashboards should. The rear defrost button is a bit generic but works fine and yes, the texture is a little different from the factory one. So what, it's a bull. Considering the options are limited and the factory stereo isn't great, this kit deserves 5 stars and a positive review. General knowledge of simple car repairs is an advantage, but common sense will help when installing the unit just as easily. I hope this helps because I was hesitant to buy it too. But for $65 and an hour of my time, I'm more than satisfied.
