Review on LG BP350 Blu-Ray Disc Player with Wi-Fi + Amazon, Netflix, YouTube Streaming, Remote Control, NeeGo HDMI Cable & Lens Cleaner by Jessie Ritchie

I think the simpler the better

This player replaces two different Samsung Blu-ray players in a row. The biggest issue I had with both was that Samsung has that pesky touch drive tray. I don't know why it is like this. My best guess was that it gave the user the option to close the drawer without the remote - just give a push and it closes instantly. I had compositions with this feature in a ROM box. But a serious downside on my old Samsungs was an awkward habit of closing if you even touched the tray, even to take out your DVD. This resulted in several of my DVDs getting damaged when the box "bites" them. When the second Samsung failed, I decided when I came here because. "Everything but Samsung." Luckily this LG unit doesn't have a "nudge function" and I can eject my DVD much more safely. One thing I found annoying was a really white screen on my TV after I ejected the DVD. Fortunately, the screensaver with a black screen and dancing LG logo was not long in coming. I was afraid that a white screen that was too bright would damage my TV and I would have trouble printing. I also like that my TV doesn't automatically switch to this input when I turn on this player. Instead it tells the input selection screen on my TV what is connected to that jack. The downside that still beats me is the streaming feature. There is no LAN or Ethernet port - you have to connect it wirelessly to your router via WiFi. And when I enter my security key, this player then asks me for a password. I don't have a password for my WiFi - just the network name and security key. I thought it was my password. As far as I know, I cannot use the streaming function on this player. Well, I already have a Roku dongle for streaming, and my TV has enough HDMI ports for all three - my DVR, Roku, and this player.

Pros
  • Play Blu-ray and DVD discs. Get the most out of your HD TV. Blu-ray Disc playback offers exceptional Full HD 1080p video performance along with stunning High Definition audio. LG Blu-ray players also play DVDs, so there's no need to replace your old DVD collection. In addition, DVD Up-Scaling delivers exceptional picture quality with upscaling up to 1080p via HDMI.
