A few years ago I was trying to find a good brand of motor oil for my car. After a long search, I chose Royal Purple and having traveled many tens of thousands of kilometers in two trucks, I have no regrets about this choice. When it came to filters, I just contacted RP support and asked what filters they recommend. K&N was one of the best choices and I've been using it ever since. I really like the welded nut on top of the canister - the 3.7 V6 in our Jeep Liberty has a very well hidden filter - it's a real pain in the neck to remove the filter without the nut. With a nut, however, it takes me no more than thirty seconds to loosen the filter - all it takes is a short ratchet and a 1" socket. I didn't send my used oil in for analysis, but I don't have one Reason to doubt other people's test results - K&N is one of the best filters.
