Review on Wera 05022925001 Screwdriver Hexagon 16X150Mm by Travis Coffman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

ATTENTION! Old driver with label difficult to read

Summary: See attached photos. I have the one with the old style sizing information, not the new, easier to read style. Details: Don't expect to get a newer screwdriver that has large blue sizing information on the end of the handle for hex screwdrivers. Although the product photo on Revain shows the new style with blue sizing info, I got the old style driver with smaller and harder to read gold text. I believe all the Wera screwdrivers in this range had the size information highlighted in gold text at the end of the handle, whether it was Phillips, slotted, hex, etc. I say this because I have some of their older screwdrivers (the Kraftform Plus line) and they all have gold text. But at some point Wera switched to the "Take It Easy Tool Finder" labeling system to make it easier to find a driver. In this system, the labels are larger and each style is a different color: red for Philips, yellow for slots, blue for hex, etc. In any case, the legacy issue isn't unique to Revain. I've tried ordering some of these hex screwdrivers from other vendors and they all only have old gold text stock. Note that some of my hex screwdrivers that I recently ordered from DID have new style markings. Apparently only a few sizes are only available in the old style (at least for now). I should also note that I have recently ordered other Wera Kraftform Plus (non-hex) screwdrivers such as slotted, Phillips and Torx and luckily they all had the new style markings on the end of the handle. So if you are trying to replace some missing hex drivers and possibly other styles, be aware that you may not get a newer style even if it appears in the product photo. I have confirmed with two different (big) suppliers that these particular drivers are still old style direct from Germany.

Pros
  • Tools and household goods
Cons
  • Basically okay, but...
